Clothing:
- Boots/shoes – need to be flat, comfortable, and preferably waterproof, with appropriate socks.
- Depending on weather and season you should carry hat, gloves, waterproof jacket, over pants and sunscreen.
Jeans are highly unsuitable for bush walking and not advised on our walks.
Equipment:
- A suitable day pack (lined with strong plastic bag to keep contents dry).
- Water – a minimum of 1 litre is recommended.
- Personal First Aid Kit including triangular and elastic bandage, sterile dressing, assorted strips, antiseptic, blister kit, insect repellent, salt (for Leeches), matches, tweezers, hand sanitizer and any personal medication
- Current Medical Information Form (form 2) (to be carried in outer pocket of pack).
- A whistle, pencil and paper.
- Provisions for morning tea and lunch. Some members carry a hot drink
- A small waterproof groundsheet to sit on at food breaks.
- Money for an after walk coffee and for transport.
Take care of the environment – take nothing but photos and leave only footprints.
Carry out all your own rubbish.
